Yeah but we (and several million others) are serious gamers...no matter if we play all the time or not...I just wish Blizzard would realize that we are the people who have kept them in business all these years and pay a bit more attention to our feedback.
One thing I do know for sure through my own working experience....Marketing always gets bigger, brighter and stupider ideas...and management listens to them (because they bring in the money and oddly enough don't get blamed when the idea flops and money is lost) and doesn't listen to those who run the day to day business. The programmers at Bliz are probably rolling their eyes as much as we are LOL!

I think they are targeting the casual player because most people have lives outside of WoW. lol Not everyone can play WoW everyday because of work and family obligations. I just don't happen to have a life so I can play most anytime. lmao

I also wish they would have opened up Gnomeregan more; especially after they got the whole Alliance forces to attack the front entrance. I wish they would have done more with that...
I don't know about targeting 3 year olds, but they are definitely targeting casual players more with the way they are moving away from reputation based rewards that are necessary to gear up toward raiding, the change of valor points to a system where you use those points to upgrade normal gear instead of buying tier gear with valor and the addition of games within the game - pet battles, scenarios, challenges, farming, cooking diversity, etc.
