Yeah they would pay pretty good money for blood donations, B- is very rare, I have the most common type, O+. The money they make from donations is stupid incredible. You have any idea how much the IVIG costs??? My insurance would love it if I dropped dead (They probably will put a hit out on me any day now lol) I get 30gms every 2 weeks at the cost of $10,000/month. Yep I wrote it correctly, 10 grand/month!!

I remember the days when they would PAY me for my blood.  [I have B- which is becoming even more rare than AB- in some areas] they would send an ambulance out to the Air Base and take a pint and pay me $30 bux and this was back in the 80's

What a small world And thank you for donating regularly, it is hard enough to get blood donations but even more difficult for pure plasma donations but through your kind act of generosity (and others who donate), myself and other with illnesses like mine are able to lead longer and richer lives.

Wow you know what? I work as a phlebotomist at a plasma center, plus I donate regularly
