Err, they do? In disc at 85, my Smite did around 6k damage, 10k on crits,
and was over a 2 second cast time. Even with 5 stacks of Evangelism I never
had a Smite hit for over 13k. Mind Spike does around 9k damage with a cast
time of 1.27 seconds, up to 18k crits, and can get even higher with shadow
orbs. With 3 shadow orbs and Archangel active, I've had Mind Spike crits for
over 40k. And it's mana cost wasn't much higher than Smite's was. And after
2 Mind Spikes on 1 target, my next Mind Blast on that target is instant and
with 60% increased crit chance. 3 Mind Spikes raises the crit chance to 90%,
thus, guaranteeing a Mind Blast crit(that's another 22k minimum, topping 40k
max). Likewise, in shadow, I get as much damage just off the INSTANT damage
from Improved Devouring Plague, not even counting the dot, as I was getting
off Smite.

Interesting, as I have the glyph, and yet, my fears do not send mobs running
anywhere either.
