Or liberal arts...snigger

You could, but there are too many out there with that Minor – it's kind of like boasting that you graduated Preschool…………………….. J

Does that mean you can also put that you get a minor in "Guild Drama Queen"?  :)

I am on linkedin.com and found it very interesting that someone decided to add their guild leadership experience to their resume.  Of course I know it would depend on what position you are going for but thought this was a superb idea.

Here is what he posted:

Guild Leadership on a Resume?
Hey group,

I'm a senior at Northwestern University graduating this June with a degree in Industrial Engineering and minors in Computer Science and Marketing. I just met some recruiters out at the Stanford career fair who have only further reinforced Blizzard being my top choice to bust into the gaming Industry.

I already have a fairly strong resume: I'm the author of two major World of Warcraft add-ons, one of which is the #1 mod in its category (Loot Council Lite). I've also got two PC games that I've made in my personal time in addition to a really diverse set of classes.

I decided to take a risk and essentially add guild leadership to my resume. Here's the format:
"Coordinated prestigious gaming team, Imperative, to compete in various RTS and MMORPG genres. Managed all aspects of the team such as recruitment, performance evaluation, scheduling, and roster. Developed web software to increase team precision and decrease web maintenance."

In not-so-abstract terms, Imperative is the #55 ranked U.S. guild and I'm the founder and guild leader. ( http://www.imperative-guild.com )

Is this something that should be included on a resume to companies in the video game industry?
