Ok here it goes :)
I am Maribeth. Alastyr introduced me to WoW when I had open heart surgery
back in June 2005. That is when Lydiaa was born (now Lydyia). She was my
first toon and my first 80 :) The attached pictures are when Lydiaa was
level 1 and then when she turned 80. My open heart surgery was for an
aortic aneurysm that didn't hurt but just got too big so they had to go in
and put a sleeve on it.
Yes I am a WoW addict lol. WoW is my first introduction to any roleplaying
game. I have learned alot from Alastyr and many of you all too. There are
some very knowledgeable people here on this list when it comes to WoW.
Thanks to all of you too :)
I started on a pvp server then went to pve server, much nicer to be able to
quest and not get ganked :-)
BTW Alastyr the warlock dinged 70 last night :D

My friends call me pookie because of my hair. Its naturally curly which makes me look funny to them. When i was younger i let it grow out for almost a year and it became like a huge afro. Then one of my friends said my hair reminded me of his dog named pookie so then the name just stuck.

Hi,
My names Chris but my friends call me pookie. They got me into WoW and i have been going back and forth between playing and not playing. I was playing all the time but now i restrict myself because i was addicted so bad i almost failed all my college classes. Right now i'm starting over and trying to get a new main started up. I have a level 60 boomkin but i'm not sure if i wanna keep that as my main or go back to a mage i had long ago or even a shadow priest (in case you didn't notice i love caster classes).I play on stormreaver but am not afraid to start new characters on other servers however i don't have the wotlk exp on my account yet. I hope to get it soon. So if anyone is interested in leveling sometime or just chatting hit me up on stormreaver, just search for characters who's name start with pook.

Hello
My name is Jimmy aka Jonders. My girlfriend got me into WoW when we first started dating. I got hooked on it! She's a big WoW fan! Been on there for years. I have just been playing for a couple of months now so I'm still a nub! I'm learning though! I played DnD for years and do compare the game with the RPG. Though their are many differences the essence is still the same. I play a druid as my main character on Draka. I've heard all about the catacylasm and the changes over the years with the game. Glad I got on when I did! Looks like I might have a chance of gettin my toon up there before November. Well I just wanted to introduce myself and say "hello". If you are on Draka or Ravenhodt look me up. My toons name is the same for both! Just drop me a whisper and say "hello"! Have a great day!
Jonders
Makes sense although I have heard similar stories on a few PVP servers I know when it comes to 'ganking'and getting 'one shotted'. The only private server I have had experience with there is no way you can do that unless you turn on your PVP mode. The only real difference I noticed are it is much much less populated [a good thing sometimes] and my framerate and latency are TEN TIMES better. Sometimes that is just a joy to behold after the rat race of the real Blizzard of Oz.
I am a disabled vet. I am very poor. I am terminally ill. I certainly have used a private server before when the real wow is due before my meager check gets in. Oh and as for my 'internet'. It is also free for reasons I will not go into here.
Just a fact of life for me...
Shane
Last fall, my oldest son decided to try out one of the private servers....as did I. It wasn't what we had hoped for....it was people who couldn't pay for retail (usually kids who couldn't get their parents to pay for retail), people who had the money to pay but didn't want to and instead paid for a toon that was instantly 80 and then bought ubber gear on the private server. To me it defeats the purpose of the game. I like leveling, its how to learn the class your leveling.
I quit when I kept getting one shot by the opposite faction, who was pretty much wearing Lich King gear. It was an unfair fight to say the least.
So I went back to retail and vowed to NEVER bother with private servers again. There is just something to be said for the game experience on retail. Yes, there are many bugged quests on private servers...who needs all the quests when you get 15X the experience as on retail?
If you are a raider....you will have a much harder time finding a private server that has the instances scripted even close to retail. To me it just wasn't worth my time...whether I was unemployed with nothing better to do or working and saving that $15 a month.
So it depends on why you are looking to play on a private server...its definitely not the same as playing on retail.
Just my 2 cents,
Lori
