I read this group avidfly but rarely post. In your case, however, I did want to caution you that your doctor is right. My soon-to-be mother in law is blind and diabetic and it's all because of her blood sugar level being kept high for so long. She can't watch TV (except to listen), she can't really function day to day. Certainly couldn't play WoW if that was her inclination.

I'll be thinking about you in your struggles to get the blood sugar levels down. It's the only way we can continue to enjoy your presence in the game. And for you to enjoy life.

UPDATE!

In short it appears that my vision "went to pot" practically overnight last week! [sigh]

Sooooo I went to the eye doctor today and alas he will not prescribe a pair of glasses for me until I get my blood sugar which is about 300ish down to about 100ish and keep it down for at least a month. It would be a waste of time he tells me and that I should get the strongest pair of 'reading glasses' I could find so I got pair of "325's" (glass magnification number I guess) and can see a bit better now. He also said that if my blood sugar stays that far up there that I could lose my vision of course. I have an upcoming appointment to my internal care physician to get my insulin level addressed as the dosage I am using obviously is not workin very well...and so on and so on

I could go blind
